El río St. Johns es un río gigante
y su corriente va del sur al norte
por su lentiud a nadie le importa

Todo sucedió en una clara tarde
cuando al pasar sobre un puente
vimos una Ibis alba, solitaria ave

El pájaro Ibis, posado sobre el codo
de una rama gigante seca y curvada
de un roble muerto la última centuria

El reflejo del pájaro sentado en la rama
dibujo del espejo acuoso natural de plata
El cuadro reflectivo, ¿sería obra de arte?./=/

St. Johns River is a large river
that runs from south to north
very slowly and nobody knows

It happened in one afternoon
when we passed over the bridge
and we saw a solitary white Ibis

The bird seated on a strong elbow
as part of the black curved branch
from an oak tree died the last centruy

The reflection of the bird and the branch
over the aquatic natural silver mirror
Was an opposite picture like a piece of art?/=/
